Epic Brewing is seeking a quality minded motivated individual to fill a full time position on the cellar team. Reporting to the Cellar Supervisor, they will be involved in tending to the beer from fermentation to the finished product.
Qualifications:
- Good practical knowledge of brewing process from grain to package
- 1+ year experience as a cellarman or brewer at production facility preferred
- Experience with DE filter preferred
- Forklift training/certification a plus
- Ability to frequently lift 60 lbs over shoulders
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in extreme conditions
- Ability to work safely handling dangerous chemicals
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to multitask, keeping track of priorities
- Good record keeping
- Have basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate machinery
- Flexible schedule is a must
- Must have dependable transportation due to work at multiple locations
- Strong initiative to complete tasks with minimum supervision
- Strong passion for craft beer
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Tending to all fermenting beers performing a variety of cellar actions
- Transfer and cellar beer
- Filter beer
- Carbonating beer
- Cropping, pitching and cellaring yeast
- Handling, organizing, and blending a large inventory of wine and whiskey barrel-aged beers
- CIP and SIP cellar and brewing equipment
- Grist building and handling
- Hop and spice handling
- Building maintenance
- QA/QC
- Sensory analysis, a developed palate for craft beer is a necessity
